make ends meet

That problem is the inability to make ends meet.

Get Another Job to Make Ends Meet

If you cant save any money or find any room in your current income to do anything fun for yourself or your family, it may be time to look at either yourself or a spouse getting another job. It doesn’t have to be full-time, and it does not have to be doing the same thing that you are doing in your day job.

Working even just a few hours more every week in a different job if your regular job doesn’t allow over-time pay can help a lot with your ability to meet the bills.

Cut Some Things Out to Help Pay the Important Bills

If you are looking at a choice between keeping your cable television or saving up an emergency fund, it may be time to cut the umbilical cord on your cable.

Nobody wants to give up cable, but it is a luxury, and if you cant afford to save money, then it should be seriously considered by your family.

If you’ve already cut that out, look for other things in your budget to cut out.

Ask for a Raise to Stop Living Paycheck to Paycheck

So say there is something in your life preventing you from getting another job, and your job that brings in your primary income is all you can work with. Asking for a raise (and getting it) can help make things more comfortable for you.

Look in to some tips to help you get that raise and approach your boss.

Downsize for Some Breathing Room

Its not just housing that should be downsized, but also vehicles  If you cant make your payments, swapping your gas guzzler for a smaller, more fuel efficient car will help your budget.

If you are house poor, look in to down sizing your living space.

These things can help you make ends meet financially, so you don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck. What do you do to help yourself along?
