Barbecue Pork Sandwiches


A simple, frugal recipe. Buy a pork roast on sale or cut up a whole pork loin to get a pork roast to make these yummy barbecue pork sandwiches. This makes a good freezer meal. After it has cooled, portion the meat and sauce into meal sized servings and freeze.

Barbecue Pork for Sandwiches

This simple main dish will make the house smell great while it saves you time and money by cooking in the slow cooker.
  • 3 pounds pork roast
  • 1½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. liquid smoke
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  1. Place meat in the slow cooker or crockpot.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients.
  3. Pour over roast.
  4. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours.
  5. Remove roast and shred with a fork.
  6. Mix back in with sauce in slow cooker.
  7. Cook on low 30 minutes.
  8. Serve on buns or rolls.
